5 simple penguin crafts

Here at Little Penguin we make no secret of the fact that we love penguins. After all, we do stock a wide range of penguin themed items in our store, which are designed to bring a touch of penguin happiness to your life.

But you don’t need to spend money to bring some penguin joy to your life. Here’s five craft ideas to make your very own little penguins!

  1. Penguin Handprint

Why not use a perfectly sized hand print to create some awesome penguin crafts? Your children’s hands are great for making a penguin handprint. You just need to draw round their hand and then cut it out on black paper. Before sticking on a round piece of white paper for the belly and some eyes and a beak for good measure.

  1. Lollystick Penguin

As we continue to get the hot weather, one thing that you are likely to have more of lying around your home are lollysticks. Rather than throwing them out, why not transform them into something extra special? Paint the sticks black and white, before crafting them into a penguin shape, you can even add some googly eyes and orange pom-poms to really bring it to life.

  1. Toilet Roll Penguins

Another item that we all seem to have too much of in our homes is leftover empty toilet roll. Much like lolly sticks, these can be transformed rather than thrown away. Paint them both black and stick one on top of the other, lengthways, a white piece of paper or card can then make the belly and you can stick the entire thing onto white card to give a snowy effect.

  1. Paper Plate Penguins

Do you have plenty of paper plates hanging around the house left over from a party? If you do, then paper plates are the ideal base for a cute round penguin. Just paint it black and stick on a white belly made from another paper plate. You could even try folding the plates to make different shaped penguins.

  1. Pine Cone Penguins

Pine cones might not be readily available at the moment, but it won’t be long before they are. Pine cone penguins are ideal for the winter months, they just need a spot of paint, googly eyes, and bits of card for wings, beak and flippers, and in no time you’ll have a cute and hangable decoration for your home.

We love nothing more than spending time with our loved ones, making fun crafts. Why not take this one step further and use your messy time to make penguin crafts? Who knows what you can create with some paper, glue and a pair of googly eyes?
